Getting Started

Looking for thoughtful, effective therapy that goes beyond talking about the problem? I offer in-person therapy in Clayton and secure telehealth sessions throughout North Carolina.

I know contacting a therapist can feel like a significant step, so I try to make the process straightforward. We will begin with a free 15-minute telephone consultation. You can tell me a little about what is bringing you to therapy, ask questions, and learn more about how I work. I will let you know whether I think I can help. If I am not the right therapist for you, I will do my best to suggest other options.

As a private pay practice, I offer both greater privacy and flexibility. Your treatment does not have to be shaped by an insurance company’s requirements, session limits, or decisions about what type of therapy is medically necessary. We can focus on the work that is most appropriate for you

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your fee?

My fee is $150 for a 53-minute individual, couples, or family therapy session.

Do you take insurance?

I do not accept insurance directly. I am considered an out-of-network provider. My focus is on providing thoughtful, effective therapy rather than insurance billing.

Clients pay the full fee at the time of each session. I can then provide a detailed receipt, called a superbill, which you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. How much you receive will depend on your particular plan.

How can I find out whether I have out-of-network benefits?

Call the member services number on your insurance card and ask whether your plan covers out-of-network mental health care. You may also want to ask about your deductible, the percentage reimbursed, and how to submit a superbill.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes. I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation during business hours. We can briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, and I will let you know whether I believe I can help.
